The CTFI Umpire Committee is pleased to invite you to the 6th Hybrid CTFI National Umpire Course Class B, Friday May 16 , 2025

The CTFI Black Belt requirements require a National Umpire training course prior to your next examination. Therefore, the courses are mandatory for those planning on testing for their next degree. We encourage ALL Class A, B or aspiring class A and B umpires umpiring the National Championships to attend this course

Course pre requisites and certification:

This course is open to 1st Degree Black Belt holders or higher and 16 years or older.

However, certification will only be granted to those who are 2nd Degree Black Belt holders and higher and 19 years or older who currently hold a minimum CTFI Class C

This course will be presented by the CTFI Umpire Committee via Zoom or In person in Quebec ahead of the Nationals ( Location: St-Romuald Arena, 265 Taniata avenue, Levis, QC G6W 5M6

What: 2025 CTFI B certification course
When: May 16, 2025 8am – 4pm EST
Break : 12:00- 12:30pm
Where: This course will be presented via Zoom and in person at St-Romuald Arena, 265 Taniata avenue, Levis, QC G6W 5M6
Who: Participants must be at least 19 years old and the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt and up and hold a minimum of CTFI Class C. Anyone under 19 years old and 2nd Dan and can attend the course but will only not receive certification.

Fee: $55 CDN

$30 CDN If you attended the Class C Course November 2024

(We are pleased to offer this course at no charge for those who have registered as a Full Time Umpire at the last 3 CTFI events in 2023 and 2024, Tournaments include Easterns, Westerms, NAC

Course Outline:

Overview if the Updated CTFI and ITF rules for 2025
Deep dive and hands on application of the role and responsibilities of the Jury President and Center Umpire in all facets of competition
Ring Management, resource management, ring efficiency.
Certification (Upon completion of the exam with a mark of 75% or higher)

CTFI Class B: Minimum 2nd Degree Black Belts, 19 years of age and older.

Concussion awareness tool:
